What a dreadful experience! Our group has stayed at the Ranch on numerous occasions but this time was the LAST time. The manager, having overheard negative comments made by a single individual regarding the way the Ranch is run, chose to chastise our entire group rather than confronting the individual who made the comments. The situation was embarrassing and humiliating. Having called us all to task, she refused to prepare dinner for us that evening (despite the fact that it was supposed to be included in our weekend package) and, instead, ordered in pizza. That would have been fine but for the fact that, at the end of the weekend, she decided to charge us for the pizza (which she, I might add, also consumed)! On our group's last few visits to the ranch, the manager has inserted strangers (as her invited guests) into our midst. These individuals have disrupted our group dynamic and made us uncomfortable. This was, again, the case this past weekend … and, sadly, this particular individual was loud to the point of being obnoxious which disrupted our much-anticipated art event. The floors needed to be swept upon our arrival and one of the bed’s was not made. Even when she was made aware of the bed situation, the manager did nothing about it. The guest ended up putting sheets on her own bed! There are no doubt happier places to host art retreats …and we intend to find them!!

If you don't mind being expected to change the sheets on a bed you paid to sleep in...this is the place for you. If you don't mind having a chore list of sweeping and emptying trash...this is the place for you. And if you don't mind giving someone money to act like a raving b*#ch...then this is the place for you.



I just spent $400 to attend an event here. The "hostess" got upset over complaints made by ONE of the guests and lined the entire group up to chew us out. Telling us "you are welcome to leave if you don't like it here". We had to listen to her rant for five minutes before she even told us what she was upset about. I left; will NOT be back. There are lots of craft retreats out there...don't come here.
