Overall

I have purchased a dog about 3 years ago for my daughters. Walked in- We purchased a small Morkie/ yorkie- They gave us a vet address to visit- we met the doctor and visited the vet ( very expensive) The doctors gave the puppy some testing and some vaccines. We got a call from the vet informing us out little few month puppy has worms! We went back and ford and tried returning the puppy to the owner- after trying and going back and ford to the store and vet- they refused to accept the return. Before and after trying- we had tried what the vet had given us ( don't remember exactly what it was- but white powder and given specific directions for us to mix the powder with vanilla yogurt) after several treatments and have constant meetings with the doctors about the progress- we asked if the infection can be transferred to my two teens. After asking the doctors- we were informed yes- this can be transferred. After hours/ days of thinking we had to make a decision based on my family and for my children's health. We wouldn't take any risk and risk my children's and myself health! After asking and begging the owners- they refused to accept the request of returning the puppy. We took the puppy to the adoption center ( shelter) and was given to a lovely family that was informed from us that the puppy has an infection and we have tried everything about it. We had to pay for the cost of everything- including the shelters costs. After hours and hours of my daughters crying and being upset about this situation! We attended court with my children and wife- and we lost. This has had an impact on my family!

stay away!

I guess this place is "family run", but the puppies don't seem to have enough space. Some of them looked kind of sick. The owners seemed way too anxious to sell, and there weren't any other customers in the store. I don't think I'll go back.

Stay away from here

I was at the store right when a disgruntled couple came in for a refund. I talked to them and they said their dog had parasites. They weren't angry about the dog being sick, as much as the owner of the store admitting that he knew the dog was sick when he sold them the dog but didn't bother to tell them.

Cruelty Has a Face: Puppy & Me

As proven in extensive studies by the Humane Society, 99.9 % of pet stores purchase dogs from cruel Midwest puppy mills for around $200 and re-sell them to the ununinformed public for up to $3,000. Puppy & Me is no exception. Many of the dogs here are sick -- I recently met a family who'd bought a dog that Puppy & Me told them was totally healthy. The family was soon spending thousands of dollars on their new puppy's health.

The "family-owned" Puppy & Me is making a huge profit, while keeping the breeding mothers suffering in cruel breeding facilities across the country, & foisting a defective product onto unsuspecting families & their children, who are excited about their "healthy" new puppy.

Also, I have passed by and seen dogs cramped into cages too small for them, and the creepy family that owns the place spraying dangerous toxic chemicals to clean the poor dogs' cages.

I hope the public won't spend any money here - it simply enables these people to continue to sell dogs they know are sick.

Below is a link to a very enlightening YouTube piece hosted by Charlize Theron, who explains what a puppy mill is and how puppy mills are linked to pet stores like Puppy & Me in Sherman Oaks, CA:

Stay Away From Puppy and Me

I talked to a local family who purchased a puppy from this place and have had nothing but piling vet bills and heartache from day one. Even though the pup had papers and vet records, the breeder turned out to be a puppy mill in the Midwest. They confronted the pet store and the owners were denied it and were completely unapologetic. The family is now having to take the store to court to get reimbursement for all their medical expenses. I feel bad that they were ripped off and lied to and I really hope this doesn't happen to another unsuspecting person who simply wants to add a dog to their family. I always encourage people to adopt from a rescue group or shelter. Then, atleast you know that you are saving a life, and not buying an overpriced pup that is most likely bred in some nasty puppy mill.

Cramped cages

I was in the store last weekend and there was a bulldog puppy in there who clearly didn't have enough room to move around in the cage. The dog looked far too big for the cage - poor thing. Aren't these dogs meant to have at least enough room to be able to turn around comfortably? The dog looked totally miserable.
