Dr. Steven Bleckner earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He later attained his medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He continued his training with Residencies in the Department of General Surgery and the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore.

A minimally-invasive diagnostic and treatment procedure used for conditions of a joint. This procedure uses a small, lighted optic tube (arthroscope) which is inserted into the joint through a small incision in the joint. Until it heals, your hip will have limited range of motion. To protect your new joint, keep your knees level with or below your hips when you sit.

If you are having a hip or knee replacement there are a few things that can help you prepare and make life easier for your return home.
Knee Arthroscopy
The surgery performed on your knee was a major procedure, so plan a few days of rest. Use crutches, if necessary, but feel your way, when bearing full weight on your leg. If the knee is not too uncomfortable, please continue walking and continue your exercises at home at least four times a day.
