Custom Plating & Polishing

I had a number of trim pieces serviced by Custom Plating. These pieces were chrome, stainless trim and aluminum trim. Most of the aluminum came out good, straight with a nice polish. The stainless all had a nice polish, however there were significant dings and other imperfections still present. The chrome pieces were very poor. Some of the pieces cam back with holes in them! A couple weeks later you could see the chrome plating starting to bubble and crack in some places. I expressed my disappointment but was basically told "too bad". I expected better work for the money I paid ($3500) and from someone who advertises as having 50 years in the business.

Be careful with this vendor. I was impressed with his self proclaimed write up and he sounded really good on the phone. I took a grill to him for plating. He quoted me $300. He required a $350 deposit in case it took extra work. I picked up the grill in the expected time frame. The exterior surface was beautiful. The tops of the grill bars were not plated and polished. When I pointed this out to him he said he did not have the polishing tool to do this work. I asked him to refund my money and he said he would not. He even kept the extra $50. I paid $350 for a grill I could not use.and he would not negotiate with me in any fashion. I had to buy another grill and sent it to California. It came back like new and for $295 + shipping.
