Ekornes is a Norwegian-based firm that specializes in the development of reclining armchairs and sofas. The company s products are marketed under the Stressless brand name. Its recliners use a patented mechanism of knob-controlled friction sliders on steel tubing that allows the chairs to support people comfortably and with regard to proper posture. Stressless recliners are the only recliners endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association. Formed in 1934, Ekornes is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
