Stephanie Haun offers individualized psychotherapy for individuals and couples. Her practice uses a multilayered approach tailored to the client. Stephanie's trained in counseling and doctoral coursework at the University of Miami, Educational and Psychological Studies Department, in addition to a preliminary year in Florida International University's Psychology program. Her training included practicums at UM-Jackson Memorial Mental Hospital, The Miami VA Medical Center, and the UM on-campus community clinic run by the Counseling Dept. Stephanie completed the two-year Psychodynamic Psychotherapy course atmthe Florida,Analytic Society. Stephanie worked as a therapist at the Dade Correctional Institution, and the Institute For Child and Family Health, both in Miami-Dade County, Florida. During her training and work, she has treated numerous clients of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and ages. Additionally, Stephanie has experience testing adults and children, when required, under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist. In particular, Stephanie devoted extra time and training required for her work with trauma and PTSD patients, and for working with LGBT clients. She uses both music and animal-facilitated therapy as needed, as she has a doctorate in music, and has trained dogs for dog agility and obedience. Overall, Stephanie's training contributed to her therapeutic style of adapting to a client's needs, with the overall goal of helping clients feel freer of obstacles, and empowering the client.
