Diabetic retinopathy is a potentially sight-threatening condition caused by high blood sugar levels in diabetics. Fortunately, your eye doctor can help manage the condition and advise you on ways to decrease your risk of developing lifelong vision loss.

Ultrasound
To help monitor myopic progression, I purchased an A-Scan ultrasound biometer which measures the axial length of the eye. So, in addition to the spectacle prescription, I will have a second number to see if treatment is working. Eyes that are longer tend to be more nearsighted than eyes that are shorter. Around age 18-21 most eyes stop growing so these two contact lenses are ideal for those between age 8-21.
MRI
In 2022, I had blurry vision and assumed I needed new glasses but Dr. Riggs looked into it and did some extra tests and after one hour he suggested an MRI and blood work asap. Something my ophthalmologist should have seen if paid attention. I followed Dr. Riggs suggestions and ended up having lifesaving surgery only 1 1/2 month after seeing him. If you need someone who really will make sure you get the best care, you should come here!
