Nice guy and so far seems to have done a good inspection; however, my realtor recommended him and I was told I would leave the day of the inspection with the report. Here we are 4 days later with promises each day of receiving it (except yesterday because now he is ignoring me). I was planning to close on the house a certain day and have a 3 day weekend to move and now that I have spent 4 days waiting for my report, I won't be able to close as desired and will be staying in a hotel for a week with my husband and three kids. Had he given me the inspection the day of as was explained, this wouldn't be an issue. Beyond frustrated! I will update after moving in and hopefully he didn't miss things and actually did good work. He sure didn't wait a second to deposit my check.

Horrible Home inspector. Don't get me wrong, John McConnell is a nice guy, but his work isn't worth $5 and I wouldn't allow him to inspect my dog house again.



John was referred to me by my realtor. She highly recommended him and set up the inspection for me. This was my mistake for allowing this. I think John was working for her rather than for me to assure the sale went through.



He did the home inspection and found some very small things with the house that needed repaired. We worked it out with the seller and closed on the house.



Once we moved in the house, we started noticing all the obvious things that John obviously didn't look at or he was blind. After moving in, I walked in the bathroom and went to wash my hands and the handle of the sink came off when I went to turn the water on. Replace faucet.



There was a leak in the same bathroom in the sink drain. It was dripping pretty slow but if you only turned the water on, you could definitely see the water on the floor. Fix Leak.



As I was putting stuff in storage under the crawlspace part of the house, I noticed a HUGE puddle. Upon further inspection, I found the drain to the shower was leaking. Once again, did John not even look? Fix drain.



I found there was no weather stripping on the bottom of the garage door. Install weather stripping.



When I went to use the A/C when it warmed up, got a huge wet spot on the ceiling where the upstairs unit is in the attic. I got up there to check it out and found that the drain pipe was not connected to the unit and was off by about an entire foot. I easily attached the drain and no more problems. How he missed this, I have no idea, unless he didn't even look. Nonetheless, Paint the ceiling.



I found a crack in the foundation. Not sure how he missed this either. Working on getting estimates.



I could go on and on and on with the things that were missed by this inspector. I have never left a negative feedback for anyone on the internet as I don't take pleasure in slamming a business. But I do think people should be aware and not use this guy, even though he will be happy to take your $325. I wanted to leave this note when I moved in over a year ago, but I needed to calm down a bit before I did. It has been over a year and I have fixed most everything to this point. I just wish I would have went to someone else. But he is a NICE guy to talk to if that is what you are looking for.
