The OWNER does bridal hair. You must speak to her directly to schedule a wedding trial. Well I did and the day I walked in for my trial, she didn't know it was a trial. I showed her 3 pictures of styles I would like for my hair. I had a first choice and two other options in case one didn't work. She teased my hair, completely flattened it down then got to work on the back. Mid-way or more through she tells me she couldn't do the style I showed her because of my silky hair so she did a variation. I don't know about you but to me variation means close. I knew when she was finished that I wasn't happy but the combination of not having all the time in the world for her to start over, shock, and shear anger I kept my mouth shut. I had my make-up done (whole other story) and left. At home, I had my fiance snap a close up pic of my hair and it was a literal bird's nest on the back of my head. NOTE: the one thing I told the owner twice on the phone and before she started was I don't like curls! She had literally curled my hair and pinned it up randomly. Very ala late 90's prom style. To top this off, I spent 20 minutes the next day conditioning and combing the knots she created out of my head. The result was a ping pong size ball of hair lost.



Because this has been eating away at me, I called the salon and spoke to the owner. I was very polite (trust me, I can be otherwise with no problem) and explained all as I just wrote above. Her responses to my, a CUSTOMER who came recommended from a past bride, concerns were that I am rude, how dare I question her ability to do hair as she is a bridal specialist and has done brides throughout the tri-state area, I am never going to get the hairstyle I want, I remind her of a customer who called a year after getting highlights to complain she wasn't happy they grew out, and good luck to the salon that has to deal with me, followed by a slam down of the phone.



What I was asking for was a refund of the $45.00 I paid her for the hair portion of my services...prompting the highlights comment. I had to pay with a check since they don't take credit cards (too bad, I could have just disputed the charge). Since she would not work with me at all, my only recourse is to truthfully tell about my experience on websites like these. Hopefully I will save another bride some horror.



As an aside, she told me on the phone I should have told her I wasn't happy so she could redo it. Ironically, when I told her employee I wasn't happy with my eyeliner I got a lecture in echoes from her and and another employee about why I was wrong about my eyeliner. Like mother, like daughter. Like salon owner, like salon employee. I can only imagine the lecture she would have gave me.



By the way, the make-up products are hardly a professional line. They were mostly Victoria's Secret and E.L.F. products (which cost $1.00). AND, total health violation, the girl did my make-up back to back after another girl (who I happen to know) and used the same brushes on my face. They hadn't been washed in-between clients. I knew the girl so I never even thought of it then but, really?



The owner will also charge you whatever she wants. The website says $35.00 for make-up. When I called to schedule the trial she told me $50.00 (should have been my first clue) and the day I went she charged me $40.00.



Unless you want to throw money down the drain, find a better salon ladies!!
