These are usually identified via an X-ray during a regular dental examination. Teeth Cleaning
When conducted by a professional, orthodontic treatment itself is not harmful to your teeth. Patient behaviors during treatment, however, can cause harm or damage. Poor dental hygiene like not brushing or flossing regularly; a diet heavy in sugary, chewy, or crunchy foods or beverages that can damage the orthodontic appliance; and avoiding dental cleanings or orthodontic treatment appointments and adjustments can cause long-term damage to your teeth. Your unique orthodontic treatment has been carefully designed to guide your jaw into its proper alignment; without proper care or timely and necessary adjustments, your mouth and teeth are at risk of developing cavities and will not function the way they should.
Space Maintainers
Since Phase 1 orthodontics isn’t too complex like other phases, the appliances used for it are much simpler. Children who have overcrowded teeth may be provided with a palate expander, which is a device that helps to make the upper jaw wider. Kids that lose a baby tooth too soon might require a space maintainer to ensure the gap left behind remains while the permanent one grows out. If your little one has severe orthodontic issues, they may need limited braces, which will only be meant for specific pearly whites since their jaw and other teeth are still developing. Crowns
When it comes to orthodontic treatment, dental insurance works a little differently than it does for checkups, cleanings, dental crowns, and other likeminded services. While every plan differs, most will have some sort of lifetime maximum benefit allotted for each insured individual regarding orthodontics. This benefit is then paid out as a percentage of your overall orthodontic fee for related services (such as the diagnostic records, the treatment itself, etc) until the maximum amount is reached.

Bone Grafting
How you should handle loose teeth: Avoid playing or overusing your loose teeth as it could make your situation worse. You can make an appointment with our team if you’re concerned about the loose feeling in your teeth. During your visit, we’ll take X-rays to monitor the health of your jawbone and determine if you need treatment like gum disease therapy or bone grafting. In the meantime, be sure to practice good oral hygiene to ward off harmful bacteria that could be weakening the tissue.
