The Heights

I completely agree with the previous review. This is an unsafe and unsavory place to live. The owner and manager pretend that it is a very safe apartment. My car was broken into and the supposed, "security cameras" don't actually work. I scared off people trying to rob cars right outside several times. You will be required to pay for an intense background check, charged an insane deposit, and watched constantly and creepily by the owner and manager on the "security camera" feeds (these cameras are not used for security, because they don't record, but are used as a means of entrapping and bullying tenants). Pets are not allowed, however the manager is allowed to have a pet. The laundry is very expensive and the machines don't even work. All of this is irritating, but it gets worse. These people will enter your apartment frequently without permission or notice. I often came home and found lights left on that I hadn't left on, water faucets turned on, a/c unit tampered with, blinds moved, or closet doors open. In addition to this illegal entering of apartments, you will frequently be asked to let the manager or owner in for "inspections." If you are looking to rent in Sunnyside, this is not a good place to go. Often it is referred to as the, "only safe place to rent." It is not actually safe, and it's not worth it. Rent in Prosser or another close town and drive into Sunnyside for work if you have to. The Heights is an awful place to live.

Yea, they look nice but I do not recomend these Apt. to ANY one.I've been living here for 2 months. I dont know were to start but here i goes. First, I dont have a TV or sterio only my laptop my living room wall mounted heater/AC unit(one in each room which are horriably inafficint) is set 60 deg. because im always working or out with friend. My room is set at 70 deg. & i always keep the door closed my power bill is $110(My moms power bill is $170 for a three brd house with three other people temp at 74 deg.) & the unit in my bed room has bad bearing which cause it to be very loud!!. Before i moved in and several times after that ive talk to the landlord about the heaters i got the same response "I'll get to it". Next, I have a corner room by the stairs and the entrance/exit door it wouldnbt be to bad if the doors didnt sound like NAILS on a CHALK board every time some one opened it. Next, my upstairs neighbor like to yodel & dance while she cleans her room at odd hour though out the night and shes' the building supervisor. Next, the people moving out offered me two FREE couches i said yes then WITH OUT MY PERMISION the landlord using his buddues cleans them and charges me every penny. Im pretty sure its illegal to clean your couches WITH OUT YOUR PERMISION then charge you. Next, all the maintance work like painting, eletrical & carpenting are being done by the owners friends which wouldnt matter if they knew what they were doing. Next, I am a college grad with an Industrial Automation Technical degree which allows me to be well off. I was able to pay the $770 deposit & 30 back round check with out even a flinch. Although he was familair with my line of work and knew about the school i attended and it well known reputation. He was convinved i was a drug dealer and/or gangster. He frequently said "If I suspect some one is a gangbanger or drug dealer i have the right to kick them out" as i was signing a form which said if theres any proof of me obtaining illegal income i will be kick out. Also, when i was handing him the money for the back round check he said " if i run this back round check would i get a call with in 10 minits tell me you have a record as long as my arm?"ONly reason i put up with this because the Apartments are in a good area but now I know its not worth it to be treated like a second class citizen. Finialy, he forgot to mention that he will raise the rent in a couple of months. i have the smallest apartment room which is 1 brd 1 bath i pay 560 which is high enough.





In conclution, shorty craftmenship, low effort on resident confort, supervisor isnt to good, High rent/deposit, Inafficient heater, owner has questionable morals, landlord plays the favorte game game & treat me like a second class citizen because im no tin his favorite circle.
