        Founded in 1935 during the Great Depression, GTE Federal Credit Union is one of the largest locally owned and operated financial institutions in Tampa Bay, with $1.5 billion in assets. We are a not-for-profit financial cooperative. This means we make decisions for the benefit of all our customers, whom we call member-owners, because each one has a stake, or ownership, in our cooperative. GTE FCU doesn’t make a profit just to turn it over to anonymous shareholders. The money we earn is returned to our “shareholders” – our members – in the form of higher dividends and lower rates.         I have been with this institui...

        I have been with this instituition for 15 years but they have until DEc 3 to correcty their intrusion into my account or I will be leaving them. They recently added electronic billing from Verizon without asking me first as to whether I actually wanted it. I have had and auto pay set up for years that automatically pays this bill since GTE financial in its great wisdom decided to add the electronic it is like they ignore the auto pay and keep tellin me I am passed due by the amopunt on the electronic bill. They send remioneders saying I am past due. Contacted them over a month ago and still not fixed. The electronic bill is supposed to run only two months but has now run three. They IGNORE my REQUEST them IGNORED MY DEMAND. I have given them an ultimatum that must be accomplished by DEC 3, 2012 ( today is Nov 29, 2012). I think that is fair if they ignore me a third time I have no choice but to move my accounts to another institution.
