Lovely's Sodfather

We hired SodFather to lay about three pallets of sod in our back yard. He charged us about $1600 to do the work, which was competitive with other bids. We had three major problems. First, he did not show up to lay the sod after telling me he was coming "tomorrow or the next day." In hindsight I should have pulled the plug then. Second, when he did show up the sod was half dead--three months later it is still half dead, or worse in some places. Third, and this is the biggest issue, the installation was terrible. They did no prep work whatsoever--the new sod was simply laid down right on top of the dead grass it was supposed to replace. They were here and gone in two hours. Most of that is dead too--either because it could not root or because it was scalped by the mower because it is sitting above the rest of the grass. I have repeatedly brought these issues to the owner, Al's, attention and he has done nothing. He either doesn't know better or doesn't care--either way, beware.
