When I came here for hip pain, Patrick immediately sent me to therapy and Dr Lao put me through some very painful movements. I told him it really hurt and was ignored. He also got very defensive. After going back to Horan and having him review the mri and xrays, he said don’t go to therapy anymore. There’s a person there that does the scheduling named Debra. It appears she has given up on her career and has no personality or does she care about anybody. After so many appointments, sending me to get special creams, a neurologist referral and a cortisone shot in the hip, He said I need a hip replacement. I went to Morton Plant in Clearwater to get a second opinion with Dr Cooper. He said I needed a hip replacement too. This was in early August 2019 and my Surgery was scheduled with Horan on Nov 14. After having a tooth pulled and a urologist clearing me for surgery, Debra called me 3 days before the surgery and said Patrick is taking me off the schedule. Unbelievable. I was crying and begging with this lifeless and heartless person. At one point she raised her voice with me to emphasize that Patrick took me off the schedule. No reason was provided ever, to this day. The doctor never called, no one ever called. I immediately called Morton Plant and spoke with Dr Cooper’s staff and they were extremely shocked at what I told them had happened. After my first couple of visits there I realized how bad Patrick’s office and staff were. They scheduled me for March 5 and I cried knowing the amount of pain I will have to deal with until then. The staff at Morton Plant and Dr Coopers care team were amazing and extremely professional.
I hope that anyone needing a hip replacement and is in extreme pain to avoid Westchase Ortho and Patrick and get a real surgeon that is specialized in this and not some military doctor with minimal training. They put me through hell and I will never forget that. Go to a real facility that actually cares about you and acts professional.

Dr. Horan is excellent and personable. Having worked in the medical field in the past and with Orthopedic doctors, I consider myself lucky to have been assigned him during for my emergency ankle surgery at Tampa Community Hospital. His staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant.
