VCA University Animal Hospital

I am a new client and I LOVE this vet. I would refer them to anyone. We purchased a 10 week old German shepherd puppy from an AKC breeder and within two days she was sick and diagnosed with Parvo from the vets office I normally use. Our family vet was on vacation and there was a substitute vet who referred us to an emergency vet called Blue Pearl. That first visit cost us $200. Blue Pearl was another $600 just to give her some fluid and send us home with a nausea medication and subcutaneous fluid. To keep her overnight was $2000 A DAY minimum!

A friend (who was also extremely happy with universal) referred us and not only did they provide excellent care for our pup, but the total cost of a 3 day stay including all the meds she needs to go home with; was half of what Blue pearl charged for one overnight visit. Additionally, the dr and a tech called us daily to check on her. I could not say enough nice things about these folks and I am grateful to them for saving her life. Happy to take our little girl home now :-D

Such a wonderful vet!! My husband and I absolutely love University Animal Hospital. The staff is so amazing and helpful, the doctors are passionate and the facility is always clean. Dr. Reading took in our sick dog and gave him the best care. She checked on us daily and made sure Lincoln was feeling well. I have never had a bad experience with any of the staff and have always felt so welcomed. I highly highly highly suggest UAH to any pet owner.

A few years ago, I had to rush my very healthy 7 year cat to this hospital. He had swallowed a large amount of thread. I was told that an operation needed to be performed to remove the thread and it would cost about $1200. We financed the cost of the surgery and when it was over, the Vet told us that all the thread and been removed and this organs were all healthy and pink. Yet, within a few days, I had to put my cat to sleep because his pancreas had been destroyed during surgery. He suffered terribly between the time of his surgery and when he was put to sleep. The vet never apologized and in fact continue to charge me more money each time I brought him back after the surgery because he was not eating or drinking. I should have sued University Animal Hospital for the trauma they caused me and the horrible suffering of my beloved pet.

Can't believe every single review is so positive. Seems like they are posting their own reviews. Had a horrible experience. Was treated rudely by the front desk staff immediately upon entering. Avoid. Avoid. Not worth it. Colleague who has also gone said staff rotates constantly and there is a lot of inconsistency.

Absolutely the best Veterinary practice I've ever experienced!

I have recently boarded my puppy here at UAH! Such a great service. I am very impressed with the wonderful care they gave my dog, I would definitely use them again in the future.

UAH is wonderful. I came here last week to get shots for my puppy! I really loved the facilities, staff and vets. I will definitely be bringing my dogs here from now on.

University Animal Hospital will always have a special place in our families heart! They have been there for us through the thick and thin. Thank you guys!
