Becker's Tree Service

Called them for an estimate to have a large dead beech tree removed. Becker came out, gave me a price, said as part of the job he'd even repair a red maple that had been damaged by branch that had fallen off the beech. Also, we have a heated driveway so we agreed plywood would be put down before bringing heavy equipment on it to avoid damage. Well, the day arrived - the workers showed up - no owner. Within minutes one of the workers had REMOVED the branches from that red maple that should have been repaired, then they attemted to bring the heavy equipment up my driveway without plywood! When I became upset over losing half my red maple, then told them they need plywood - they just packed up and left! I phoned the owner who said the worker told him the branch removed from the maple was dead. It was not. The leaves were still red and healthy, but what else would they say at that point? It had a crack which could have been taped closed - which is why Becker offered to repair it for me in the first place! I just wish I read the reviews on this website before I got involved with this company. For one, I wouldn't have to wait years for my maple to regrow. I thought I finally found a decent tree service company - boy was I wrong!

Called Becker's to grind down a huge oak tree stump that toppled over from SS Sandy. Becker came out, gave me a price but we never agreed to a time nor did I sign a contract. One day I came home from work and was taken aback because work was done. I have to admit they did a great job grinding. But...I did not know which tree company did the work. Expected to have a contract up front. Had to call a few tree companies to find out who did it. Turned out it was Becker's.



When grinding, a piece of the debris hit and broke my storm door and scratched up my 2 year old entry door pretty badly. They fixed the storm door by replacing the glass. I called and left a polite message reminding Becker's that entry door was still not repaired which is why I did not remit my payment yet. I even made a point to say I think it is something we can easily remedy. I honestly wanted to work with them again!



But the next day, Becker himself called and left me the NASTIEST message I ever heard. It was so shocking, mean and appalling.



COMPLETLEY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!



He actually yelled in the message exclaiming that if I was going to sue him then fine he would get a lawyer - I never mentioned suing!!!! Saying that the storm door cost him a lot of money (yeah well you broke it and purport to have insurance covering property damage). Not the type of message a professional who wants to do business should leave. Wow, still reeling from his unprofessional, tough guy attitude towards a woman.



Bottom line, work is good but dealing with this guy may want to make you run the other way. Will never call them again!

Terrible...Run..First off, they never called back with an estimate. I called and they gave me the amount and then said they hadn't called because they didn't have my number. I arranged a date telling them that I would take the day off. I did so, called them yesterday morning and told me the guys would be here in the afternoon. They never showed. I left a voicemail and they didn't returna message after that either. They cost me a personal day. That's rude and unprofessional and the guy deserves a negative one rating.
