Pep Boys

Warning! The store manager at the titusville pep boys (David) will lie right to your face and use scare tactics to convince a customer that if you don't replace the parts they say you need, your putting your life at risk! I had this happen to me when I bought a 1 owner, very well kept car with only 46,000 miles on it and brought it to the titusville pep boys for an oil change. After they put my car up on a lift, the store manager starts telling me that their's no way my car only has 46k miles on it, because my suspension, my front right tire, etc, are in such bad shape, my car should have 250k miles on it, not 46k miles and that I have a very bad oil leak. He told me that he could lift my tire and because it was so loose and I shouldn't drive it because my tire might come off. This didn't make sense as I just bought the car and drove it 45 minutes from orlando to titusville without any signs of any suspension problems, it drove straight, didn't shake and no weird sounds. He kept insisting that my 1 owner, 46k miles car had more like 250k miles on it. The 85 year gentleman who owned the car passed away and I bought it directly from his family with all original documents, service receipts, dealer records and a car fax report. The store manager then tells me I need to spend $1976 to fix my car! I then decided to get a second opinion, so I went to tire kingdom in titusville and a different pep boys in orlando and guess what, I didn't need any suspension work done, I was told that everything was "tight" and nothing needed to be replaced nor do I have a oil leak. Infact, I was told that my car was in excellent shape. It was clear to me that I was being lied to by the titusville pep boys store manager as nothing was wrong with my car. I'm writing this review several months after my bad experience and my tire hasn't come off nor do I have an oil leak! I just put 4 new tires on last week and was told again by a third shop that everything is tight and looks great on the car. The only thing that was needed was a front wheel alignment. Either the very bad oil leak and wheel that was about to fall off somehow fixed itself or I was lied to! I had called pep boys corporate several months ago and made a complaint against the store manager. I was contacted by area manager (victor) and told him everything. He said that he was going to talk to the manager and call me after he did so. He never called me back! Months went by without any communication from pep boys so I called corporate last week saying I wanted to find out what happened and that nobody has called me. 9 days later (tonight) victor calls me back saying that he hasn't called me back since 02-2015 because he didn't "find anything wrong". I'm writing this long review because I wanted to share my experience and to say if you feel pressured and/or being lied to, take your car somewhere else and get a second opinion. That can literally save you thousands of dollars by not getting ripped-off!
