Salgau installed a mulehide fully adhered epdm system on my roof. Improper drip edge installation and unsuitable parapet wall substraight led to leaks and dettatching rubber months later, which I voiced concern of happening during install. At the time he insisted all was as it should be and installed to manufacture specs per the contract and that the 10yr installer labor warranty covers me. Cut to a year later and I have mulehide documentation describing in great detail the different substrates types and how to install onto them. He failed to put the proper underlayment over 1" thick 100 year old tar covered and gapped shiplap. He says no puncture, nothing to fix. He claims the parapet wall didn't count under manufacturer specifications because it's not the roof... I say the rubber doesn't care where it is glued to it still needs proper substraight to endure. He claims the leak came through brick joints, past a 1" air gap, past shiplap, past an empty 2x4 wall cavity, past another layer of ship lap to ONLY come in where roof deck meets shiplap. No water in the 10" inbetween. Water doesnt magically transport like that. It came through undersized, improperly installed drip edge, under rubber due to improper installation substraight, and right on down into my house. Ive got video and pictures. He shoves caulk in the area and says all fixed. No it's not! He lied to my face about the construction of my own home of 10 years which I know inside and out in order not to be held responsible. If I wasnt educated in renovations, he would have got away with it. Get video, pictures of your install before during and after and ask for in writing how the warranty is carried out during various types of repairs. Better yet get someone who doesn't lie to do the work.
