Mary's Pizza Shack

Service started out fair. I told her I wanted the meatballs to come out as the appetizer. They did not. I received my salad first without utensils. It took a good 5-8 mins before I saw her to ask for a fork. She then replied "we're out of forks." She then said I'll try and get some. I didn't get my meatballs out as the appetizer, that annoyed me. A few minutes later she brings the meatballs out, right in front of my 8 month old baby who is sitting on the edge of the table in a high chair. The moment she drops it off and leaves he starts crying just as I was getting ready to move them so he wouldn't burn himself. Too late for that, he did. That really pissed me off. He ended up being okay but I felt the need to tell her when she came back to drop off the pizza. She made an excuse for it. Later I asked twice for water. She apologized for the whole incident and her service (sort of) I forgave her and still gave her a decent tip, 17%. The food was good but the service was poor.

I went to Mary's Pizza Shack and I had the best pizza and pasta that i have ever tasted. Seriously! My son (Mr. Finicky)LOVED it....



I have lived on the East coast back in the day and New York has some excellent grub. However, this little"Shack" is a pleasant surprise( Notice i say is)

The waitress was efficient and her personal hygiene was notably attended too(nothing worse than questionable hygiene from one whose handling your food).



That said, the pasta wa so on point that i couldn't resist asking who the seasoned chef was. Surprisingly it was a woman. They said her name was Faye. Faye was busy but polite and she had a big beautiful smile on her face. The food came out fast, the help was efficient and it's no shack folks, the place has some good old fashioned italian charm.



Lastly, Hats off to ya Mary. I'm not sure who the manager was but I know you would be proud and way to go faye! Our family will be back again and again

I admit, a lot of people like and eat at Mary's. This location is as good as any I have been to. Personally I think the food is average at best and the prices higher than average. Want good pizza? There are so many better places to go.

If you want great service, wonderful atmosphere and the greatest food ever to touch your taste buds EAT HERE! Mary's Pizza in Vacaville is great! Best part, make a night out of it, start at Mary's for dinner and go to the theatre across the parking lot for a movie.
