Founded in 1896, the Children's Home Society of Washington is a private, nonprofit child welfare organization that provides a variety of services and programs. Located in Vancouver, Wash., it is an organization that is comprised of foster and adoptive families. The organization provides behavioral health, social casework and advocacy services. It is certified by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children. The Children's Home Society of Washington serves more than 6,800 children every year in the community. The organization supports adoption, in-home and community programs. In addition, it offers emergency shelter and respite care, mediation, volunteer and assessment services. The Children's Home Society of Washington conducts parent education sessions.
