Village Hair Shoppe

A cute little place and very nice people.

As the other reviewer stated, Vernon does not seem like the kind of place to find a modern salon. The Village Hair Shoppe is wonderful - Nancy is a fantastic stylist.

When I think of cutting edge hairstyles and a full service salon, the Village of Vernon in't exactly at the top of my list! In fact, I had always imagined the Village Hair Shoppe to be country styled, older ladies salon. Not something I was looking for as a 20-something business professional and mother of two. I was even a bit apprehensive and skeptical when I was emphatically referred there by two different women. However, I liked there modern cuts and they raved about their stylists, so I figured, "Well, what's one more disappointing hair cut?" Wow! Was I impressed! To begin with the salon is cuter and more charming than it appears on the outside. In fact, they not only offer hair, nails, and massages, but also a full selection of products and great purses! In addition, the salon seems to be staffed with several younger hair stylists who have an eye for fashion and what's "in". My stylist, Naomi, took a great deal of time asking about my preferred cut, lifestyle, previous cut likes and dis-likes, and then made a realistic recommendation for me based on my hair type. She then went to work cutting my hair. I was very pleased with how meticulous she was with ensuring that every strand of hair laid just right! She never rushed and took the extra effort to make sure I was satisfied. Next she tackled my disappointment with my last color. She helped me select a color complimentary to my natural color that would increase the warmth of my coloring. I have received so many compliments on the color alone!! All this and I was out the door (before tip) for under $60.00! It was all the things I had liked about my salon in a larger metropolitan city in Ohio, but with a smaller price tag - and a more scenic drive! I've referred other women there and am heading back for my next visit later this week. Next time you're ready for something new, minus the disappointment, give the Village Hair Shoppe a try! You too will probably be surprised.
