Carrie's Cakes & Catering Inc

I had a small gathering of friends for a b-day dinner,Carrie's name was given to me from a long time deli owner here in Va Beach,who i trusted...so,i gave her a call.She was polite,returned my call promptly and walked me through the ordering process.She asked me"what is your favorite flavores"???...easy enough...CHOCALATE...and RASPBERRY.Her creative mind and years of experience took over from there.I told here we were having dinner at an Italian place,so i didn't want it too heavy(haha),i also told her i personally did not like cakes that were "really sweet and left that" crunching sugar sensation" in your mouth ...the rest,i left up to herThe cake was delivered to my home,which she offered to do for me,it was exactly on the time she promised it would be there,i had also given her a old photo of myself when i was a child to place on the cake...she did so-in a very creative,artistic way propped up with stands(very cute).It was a 9" round 2 layered cake very nice size...it easily fed all of my 8 dinner guests plus i sent 4 pieces back for the waiters.And a piece still came home with me.

The cake was simply wonderful.It was very light.Not sweet at all,yet perfect for the flavoring.Carrie put some shots of raspberry chambord liquer in the cake and she added a layer of Bavarian cream to separate the two cake layers.The top was iced with her traditional butter cream white icing and she decorated it with fresh huge raspberries on top of the cake which were nestled in between shavings of dark chocolate,it was really pretty.My guests all commented on how much they enjoyed the cake.I would have no reservations about returning to Carrie's for another special event if i needed a cake.
