Our son is a 2010 graduating senior with four years at Chesapeake Bay Academy, and has been accepted early by Old Dominion University. CBA provided an immense relief to his earlier successful but trying academic career. CBA offers a superb scholastic environment for capable students that can benefit from a support system not available in traditional school settings. While the academic opportunities are reflective of other public and private schools, the student-teacher ratio and opportunities for enrichment of morale and self-esteem are far superior. The team spirit between the faculty and students is ever-present, and while the school is small, every effort is made by the administration to provide an agenda and opportunities available at larger schools. Hampton Roads is very fortunate to have Chesapeake Bay Academy, and we will continue to support its efforts.

Chesapeake Bay Academy provides academic support for children with learning disabilities. Our son is is dyslexic and upon entering CBA in first grade, could not properly identify letters and make the appropriate sound connections to them. Not only is he reading on grade level (4th), his self esteem is soaring. The environment provides students with an Individualized Learning Plan (IEP) that enables them to maximize their strengths. Early intervention is a key component for parents wondering about their son or daughter's struggles in school. CBA assists parents in assessment and offers a nurturing and aggressive plan for the students future. We are very fortunate to have this gem so close by in our community. More parents and caretakers should take a closer look at it when they have concerns regarding their child. The staff is incredibly committed to making a difference in their students' lives and listen closely to parental concerns. If you are at all concerned, please call, better yet, visit.
