        Overall

        The YellowPages.com website for this business indicates that 'Check' is listed among the payment methods. I asked, when informed that my wife's car was ready to be picked up, if payment by personal check was okay. I was told "No, cash or credit card only". I paid for the car repairs using a home equity line of credit, from the Navy Federal Credit Union, which I do not have a credit card for. I had to go to the credit union in person, in order to obtain cash. Is it a big deal? Perhaps not, but I was inconvenienced by having to do so. Mr. Hicks stated that he has been stuck with bad checks, in the past, and I can understand why he would prefer not to accept personal checks. However, I trusted HIM to repair my wife's car, based upon customer reviews of his business (which I found on his business website). Regardless of the reasons for his current 'no checks' policy, Mr. Hicks should have listed the payment methods on his own The Car Shop of Virginia Beach website.
