Overall

The Hanford Nursing and Rehab facility is understaffed for nurses and CNAs. They weren't following protocol and allowed my sister to fall twice, hitting her head both times. They don't check on her often enough or respond to her assistance requests in time for her to make it to the bathroom before wetting herself. That is inexusable! She is a stroke recovery patient and is only 69 years old. Even though she is an Adventist and doesn't eat any pork ever, they refuse to stop putting it on her plate. She has to send her food back every meal because they keep sending her meals with pork on the plate. They won't allow her to take her prescribed Thyroid medicine because her doctor doesn't have hospital privileges at their facility. Some of the physical therapists don't pay attention during therapy, because they are too busy talking to each other. I could write a novel of problems with this facility. DO NOT put your loved ones in this place. She has been in the Kings facility for 6 weeks and her doctor has only seen her 4 times, and not even examined her during those times. She is NOT being cared for properly, and as soon as we can get her home modified, she will be leaving this place. If I could give a negative number rating I would.

Don't put your loved ones in h...

Don't put your loved ones in here!! The only thing they seemed to care about was what THEY wanted done, not what WE wanted or what my mom wanted. My mom was very pro-physical therapy and wanted it but they would make her do it even when she was so tired she could barely think. When we needed paper work done to move her into an assisted living facility, they lost the paper-work and then sat on it. No one seemed to be able to communicate around there as to what to do with the forms and so no one did anything until the last minute with my sister standing over them. My mom called a lot complaining of the "attitude" of some of the nurses. I realize it is hard to work at these places but being professional means knowing how to treat people. We did NOT walk away from here with a good feeling about the experience.
