Mama 'n Papa's Pizza Grotto

I had a bad experience at Mama Papa's Pizza. My folks who are elderly eat here sometimes. This was my first visit to get take out for them.



Well, Mama's Papa's got the order wrong (which can happen, no big deal). So, I called them to explain what was wrong with the order. The person on the phone talked to the manager who said he filled the order himself and it was right.



Well, I didn't waste my time on the phone arguing how I was supposed to get a meat sauce and a marinara and instead got two marinara and one was supposed to be the dinner size but both were the same size with the same sauce. The person who took the order said the dinner size would be about twice as much. So, I feel I was overcharged without getting what I should expect. Really, the manager should have taken the call rather than just get defensive and have the receptionist/waitress relay the message. I'm in sales and don't ever tell a customer that I am right and they are wrong. I believe this was badly handled. I guess they've been around so long, they don't need good customer relations. But, I won't go back. My first visit will be my last and I'll find a new Italian restaurant for my folks.



My advice is just to order the lunch size. The dinner size is more expensive and if at all, a minimal amount more food. If taking out, check your order to make sure it is correct before you leave.



And my message to Mama's and Papa's pizza is that an unhappy customer is 7 times more likely to share their bad experience as the happy customer. Management should take the time to take the complaint and an apology whether the customer is right or wrong might go a long way.

I love this place! My Favorite is the spaghetti and meatballs. HUGE meatballs and very tasty. The Fettuccini Alfredo is super good. it has this wonderful garlic taste in it. Lasagna is also REALLY great! Staff are very nice, service is really quick. I am diabetic ( i know wrong food to eat but sometimes its ok) so I need fast service cause I usually have a sugar drop when its time for dinner so I appreciate the fast service and the great food with it.
