We found Richie's randomly through a web search when our bus wouldn't start and had a great experience with them. We thought it might have been the batteries, but a jump didn't work and a local samaritan, a knowledgeable friend, and our regular mechanic (too far away to help at the time) all thought we needed a new starter. After a tow to Richie's, they checked things out quickly (we were a band on our way to a show) and spent some time working on the battery just to make sure that wasn't the issue before getting into the starter. Turns out we didn't juice up the bus enough during our jump, but Richie was able to get it working and then continued to do tests on the battery and alternator to make sure it was ok, rather than just try to sell us a new one. He even followed up with us a week later to make sure everything was still running ok. Great experience and recommended.

I origionaly went here for state inspection stickers when I moved to Waltham and used them for routine maintenance after that. While waiting for an oil change Richie talked about his time spent volunteering at his daughter's school and we b.s.'d about politics fo awhile. In general the conversation gave me the impression that this is a good guy and while I can get cheaper prices elsewhere, I liked knowing I was supporting small business. Fast forward to this week, where I still feel like Richie is a god guy but a horrible business owner. Took my car there last week for oil change, tire rotation and new brake pads; maybe a 2 hour job for which i called ahead the day before and he said "no problem, will be ready a little after noon." I told him i just needed it by 4:30 so I could pick up my son from daycare. he called me at 4 to find out if he could keep it overnight to work on it first thing in the morning that he was getting ready to start on it, 3 after it was supposed to be done. I told him no I needed it tonight to get my son, but would bring it back next week since he explained why he was so delayed. He told pick the day and it will get top priority. I called him this morning and asked if he could pick it up (a service he has offered previously) and I would be in around 4:30 to pick it up. got to the shop only to be told by his employees he either forgot or got swamped because they hadn't seen it. The good news for him is that he has so much business he doesn't need mine or yours.
