Obviously customer service is not a high priority for this Salon owner. I made my appointment a week in advance for Tuesday, a slow day so that I would be able to receive the attention and time that I felt my hair needed. Never mind I took off the morning from “my job” to have my hair done, this should have been a non- issue because my time is also money but maybe not true at Shear Movement. My appointment was for 9:30am and I was there 9:20am. As soon as I walked in, I should have known there was a problem when the receptionist said the dreaded words for us the clients, “she's running a little late” 10 minutes, she says. Because a little late in the world of “our “ salons may mean anything from 30 minutes to an hour. So I patiently waited for 20 minutes and I was again told that she, my stylist who happens to own the salon, would be another 10 minutes. At this point I asked if I should reschedule and that I have taken off from “my job”, she insists no, she will be there. So I waited, and waited when she finally strolls in it is 10:15am. She is 45 minutes late for my appointment, walks in, cell phone in hand on speaker talking to God knows who and proceeds to act as if she is just opening the shop for the morning and that there is NO one there waiting for her. She didn't even acknowledge me, I'm sorry I'm late, I'll be right with you…….Nothing. I was so utterly upset and felt so disrespected…I told the receptionist thank you and left. I have never in my life been treated in such an unprofessional manner. Yes, I agree with the other reviewers……SAVE YOUR TIME, and MONEY. Thank God I didn't spend a dime but my time is worth something to me but not to Ms. Saundra, owner of Shear Movement. Thanks for NOTHING! I'm giving it one star but it deserves ZERO!

The Good Friday Morning That Turned Into A Shear Mess

Oh Lawd!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was pressed for time; and could not go to my normal stylist (BIG MISTAKE). After reading the review here on yelp I decided to try "Shear Movement" and it was a "Shear Mess" I unfortunately had Sandra (the owner) as my stylist.

My day of hell started on a Friday morning; I was due in New Jersey later that night.

I came in wearing a wig; for which I got a compliment on when I sitting in the reception area from another patron (who was seen by Fela and he rocked her hair). She asked "Why are you here; your hair already looks good." I told her it was a wig and I wanted to wear my own hair.

Please note I had a full head of HAIR under the wig which had not been relaxed for a while.

I asked Sandra for a very simple geometrical cut (no layering required); which was pictured on the wall of the establishment; I conveyed my wishes and showed her the picture.

The style only required relaxing, wrapping, fading out the back and lining my temples with the trimmer and bumping the longer section with a flat iron. The style pictured was totally flat on the sides and back and the longer section was totally flat with end flipped.

I can't even explain the made up style I walked out with; I've done better styles at home doing it myself; it was horrible!!!!! I had to put the damn wig back on; because at this point my own hair is beyond styling; I'm going to have to let it grow out again.

Stay tune ~ I'm going put pictures on here shortly; just so everyone can see the bald spots in the back of my head.

There are many stylists in "Shear Movement" Sandra (the owner) is not one of them. You have been warned!!!!
