In 1990, West Penn became the original Cable Design Technologies company and changed its name to West Penn Wire to reflect the affiliation. Products it supplies customers with include aqua seal and process control cables, communication and control cables, fire alarm cables, data grade cables, local area network cables, coaxial cables, broadcast and presentation cables, residential and media control cables, cabinet and rack catalog, special applications cables and fiber optic cables. The company is a subsidiary of Belden CDT, which designs, manufactures and markets high-speed electronic cables, connectivity products and other related items for the specialty electronics and data networking markets. West Penn Wire is located in Washington, Pa.
