Its products are distributed in every state in the United States and sold in more than 50 countries and on every continent. Comfortex was founded in 1986 to fulfill a need for window covering for greenhouse windows. Comfortex continues to manufacture high quality window treatments as a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of the Netherlands-based Hunter Douglas company. It employs more than 600 people nationally, a third of whom work at the Maplewood, N.Y. facility. Comfortex, headquartered in Maplewood, N.Y., remains at the forefront of both technology and style, and is nationally recognized as an innovative leader in the window treatment industry.
