The results are usually very long lasting (i.e. five to ten years). Implant failure, sun exposure, weight gain, weight loss, aging, and pregnancy will reduce the longevity of the results. To maintain the best result, it is important that you avoid sun exposure and drastic weight changes.
Primary Care
Another resource is to ask your primary care physician for referrals. They have the opportunity to evaluate the results of cosmetic surgeons based on the experience of their patients. After that, be sure to make appointments with at least three surgeons. Select the physician that you respect and trust the most. Do not make your selection based on price alone.

Do not eat or drink anything including water, tea, or coffee after midnight the night before your surgery (twelve hours before your surgery). Do not chew gum. You may brush your teeth the morning before surgery, but do not swallow any water when you rinse your mouth. Failure to comply with this important precaution can lead to death as a result of aspiration pneumonia or lung problems. Your surgery will be cancelled if you do not comply with this order. If you take prescription medicines, please call me to make arrangements to take these the day of surgery.

After pregnancy, changes to the size, look, and feel of the breast tissue is natural, and to be expected. Breastfeeding and overall weight gain are two of the main reasons why women seek to have their breasts restored after childbirth. Dr. Bashioum provides post-partum patients with the opportunity to restore their breast back to their pre-pregnancy size and shape through enlargement, reduction and lift.

There are always risks to having eyelid surgery. Serious problems are usually related to excessive surgery and/or undiagnosed medical conditions. Careful attention to high blood pressure, arthritis conditions, and thyroid disease is necessary. I believe eyelid surgery can be done safely with a high degree of patient satisfaction.

MRI
All man-made implants will eventually break once they are implanted in the body. This is a result of material fatigue. Once an implant is placed, the body stresses it. Living tissues like bone and muscle can make up for this by growing stronger. Man-made implants cannot do this, so they will eventually fail. Saline implants simply deflate, your breast returns to its small size, and the salt water is naturally passed from your body. Silicone gel rupture will lead to small amounts of silicone gel accumulating around the implant, which will eventually lead to inflammation. Due to the difficulty in diagnosing silicone gel implant rupture, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) strongly recommends an MRI test ($750 to $1000) the third year after surgery and every other year thereafter.

Ear Surgery
Body development can continue into the early twenties. When surgery is done before this time, there is a chance the surgery will have to be repeated. In addition, it may be difficult emotionally to adjust to the surgery during teen years. For these reasons, I suggest surgery be postponed if possible until eighteen years of age. Notable exceptions to this are ear surgery and breast reduction.

All the surgeries and treatments we do are cosmetic in nature. While most cosmetic surgery is elective and not covered by insurance, certain exceptions are possible, such as reconstructive surgery. There are many medical professionals who offer injections, but receiving your injections from our skilled and highly trained Registered Nurse will give you trusted outcomes.
Brow Lift
Everyone in the United States wants the latest in medical care. Unfortunately, this is not always the best medical care. At times, media presentations will leave out critical information about potential complications, quality of results, and FDA regulations. I am open-minded when it comes to new technology but I would rather not expose my patients to the newest techniques until they have been proven to be effective and safe. Recent advances in eyelid surgery include fat removal through the wet part of the lower eyelid, repositioning of lower eyelid fat rather than removal, brow lift surgery through upper eyelid incisions, frown line treatment through upper eyelid incisions, cheek lift surgery through lower eyelid incisions, cheek implant placement through lower eyelid incisions, and changing the slant of outer corner the eye. Fat repositioning and fat removal through the wet part of the lower eyelid have proven to be real advances in eyelid surgery.

Body-sculpting or contouring is an effective technique that may offer patients a new two-fold benefit. Natural facelift techniques have a shorter recovery period in comparison to traditional facelift surgery. Most patients are back to normal daily function within 6 to 7 days after surgery. Patients will experience some facial swelling initially and healing takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks.
