Olive Garden Italian Restaurant

It’s my birthday. It wasn’t that good of a day so far. And for dinner I went to Olive Garden with my family rather than anywhere else. Now, the waitress that served us was nice, but it wasn’t as good as other servers when we visit this particular location (she never offered me a refill for my drink and she spilled cheese whenever she’d put some into my dish) Anyways, I tell her it’s my birthday, and she tells me what desserts to choose AND assured me that she would get other servers to come around and sing for me IF we stayed a bit more. My family and I were okay with that and waited for a while. Fifteen minutes later, the waitress comes back, telling us that everybody is too busy and that all she can do is get us the dessert and some mints (she hastily tossed them onto the table) and gave us our receipt. Not even a candle to blow out. Just the dessert and some mints. Right then and there my mom and her boyfriend began to examine the restaurant and noticed that the servers weren’t really in a hurry. The servers were walking calmly, having side conversations with each other, and cleaning the VARIOUS empty tables in the restaurant. I, on the other hand, was just sad that even the staff of a restaurant that’s supposedly known for being “family style” don’t even want to tell me Happy Birthday, so I simply put my headphones on for the rest of the time. When we were done and were heading out, my mom’s boyfriend saw the manager, Ms. Jill McCarthy, and explained EVERYTHING to her. Her jaw DROPPED. She right away came over to me, apologized, and went to get me a sample of their S’mores cake and a $30 gift card. She asked me if I liked the sample, which I responded by saying it was delicious. She smiled and told us to wait. She returned with a ton of servers and a piece of cake with a candle. I was too shocked to even record. Ms. McCarthy really tries to keep things family friendly in her restaurant and it really made my day. You can’t go wrong with this Olive Garden.

The food was excellent, but, I would like to point out the phenomenal service provided to us by Brandon at table 101 tonight. They were understaffed and he managed to not only get all orders out and correct but in a timely fashion. He was courteous and polite and kept all surrounding tables neat and happy. He was especially courteous even when taking a difficult order with outrageous specifications. I went in to secret shop and was suprised at his poise and patience with my table and my not-so-average orders even under fire. Kudos to you Olive Garden for hiring such a delightful young man, it's nice to see such great people still working in the service industry.

I love Olive Garden. I usually don't like franchise resturants but Olive Garden has so many choices and the entrees change all the time. I would definatley go if you are in the area.

The food is always great, never have a complaint about that. Of course, the breadsticks are amazing...that is one of the main reasons I go! But, I went there one Sunday and they were out of the salad!!! Then a month or so later we went on a Sunday again and they were out of breadsticks!!!!! Can you believe that! They substituted it with bruschetta bread with the breadstick sauce, it was ok but didn't even come close to comparison. The waitress said they get their shipment of food on Mondays, so I'm guessing that is probably the best time to go.
