Due to the popularity of Plastic Surgery among patients, some physicians and non-physicians without any formal training in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery are claiming to be "Plastic Surgeons". Many of these "Plastic Surgeons" are only interested in the financial gain of performing cosmetic procedures and are not concerned with the well being of the patient. It is not against the law to perform cosmetic procedures if you are not a Plastic Surgeon, in fact some self-proclaimed "Plastic Surgeons" are residency trained in Dentistry, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Dermatology, Internal Medicine and are not trained in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at all. Many of these "Plastic Surgeons" have attended weekend courses and have not had any formal training in Plastic Surgery. These are the only two national medical education committees with approved training programs in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery: the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Dr. Gorodisky has completed an AOA approved training program in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and adheres to the rigorous safety and practice guidelines set forth by the AOA and the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.

Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation involves the placement of breast implants. These may be filled with silicone or saline are placed behind each breast, underneath either breast tissue or the chest muscle. The procedure generally lasts one to two hours and is usually performed under general anesthesia. After surgery, a patient's bust line may be increased by one or more cup sizes. To minimize scar visibility, incisions are made in inconspicuous places, such as the crease on the underside of the breast, or edge of the areola. A pocket is then created using minimal tissue manipulation to create a space into which the implant is inserted. There are many variables to consider when planning a breast augmentation. Most patients have some degree of breast asymmetry and each has a different desires for an end result. A careful consultation includes discussion of the patient's lifestyle, medical and social history, and a review of examples of desired looks that the patient prefers are important when deciding on the implants to use for the procedure.

Face Lift
A face lift, also known as a rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure performed to reduce the visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles and sagging skin, and to aesthetically enhance the overall appearance of the face and neck area. Face lifts can help to counteract the harmful effects of time, environment, genetics, and gravity on the face. In a face lift, tissues may be lifted and skin and muscle tightened to give your face and neck a fresher, more youthful look. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in the natural folds of the face and ears. The scars from these incisions fade to near invisibility over time. Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is a surgical modification of the eyelid. This procedure can be performed for both functional and cosmetic reasons. Excess tissue such as skin and fat are removed or repositioned. Also surrounding tendons and muscles may be tightened. Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging, or tired-looking eyes by the removal or repositioning of skin, fat, and tissue in both the upper and lower eyelid.
