Red Barn

We attended an engagement party for our niece last Sunday. We have been there before, so we expected first-rate treatment, and we got it. The food and service were excellent. There was a choice of steak, chicken, salmon, and a mushroom dish for the vegetarians. I generally have my steak medium well, but at the suggestion of the server I requested it medium. He was spot-on! I enjoyed the steak very much, and particularly enjoyed the garlic mashed potatoes. From the comments I heard from the other guests, everything was delicious. Tom and his staff were courteous and efficient, and catered to a large crowd with extra care, considering the crowd was over 80 people and there was dancing in the front of the seating area. While I was near the front door, a number of patrons, obviously repeat customers by the conversation I overheard, were happily seated in another part of the restaurant after Tom explained that a party was going on in the area they normally seat in.



I have a credit/debit card processing business, and have a number of clients in the restaurant/food service business, so I'm aware through my clients of how difficult it is to do a good job of presenting good food and service on a regular basis. The Red Barn reminds me of the family-owned restaurants I used to see growing up, providing the courtesy and professionalism that today's chains can only hope to aspire to, and rarely do. I hope others will appreciate it as well.

What a horrible dining experience. The owner is a psychopath. The staff are as rude as can be. So what if it's an "institution". The place should be bulldozed. I had the worst experience with my family and will never go back.
