Kerry Hogan, Ph.D. is a clinical child psychologist who completed her Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University and her internship at UNC-CH. She spent 12 years working for TEACCH in Chapel Hill and specializing in autism. She continues her affiliation with UNC-CH but also enjoys working with a more diverse group of children in the quiet and family friendly setting at Wilmington Psych.

Psychopharmacology - The most significant progress in clinical psychiatry in the past decade has been in the area of medication, particularly in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. But new medications used to treat depression, ADHD, addictions, dementia, and other mental disorders have also come upon the market. Dr. Boeker takes care to keep up to date with these new medications and their effects, side effects, interactions with other medications, and suitability to the individual patient.

Because they are M.D.s, psychiatrists can prescribe medication. Most psychiatrists only treat people with medication but a few, like Dr. Boeker, also provide therapy for people who are interested.
