I hired a lawyer from Stabile Law Firm when I received a speeding ticket several months ago. My court date was set for June 4th. I was supposed to meet the lawyer at the courthouse in New Jersey at 9:30 that day. I arrived several minutes early. At 9:30 I called the office to find out who they were sending and the administrative assistant said that my lawyer would arrive shortly. After about 20 minutes of waiting around I decided to call the office again. I was told that my lawyer was “5 minutes away”. I waited another 15 minutes before calling the law firm yet again. This time the administrative assistant assured me that my lawyer “should have arrived”. As a result, I walked around the court room approaching any woman I came across, asking her if she was in fact my lawyer. After I asked nearly every woman in the court room if she was my lawyer, I called the law firm for a fourth time. This time I was told yet again that my lawyer was “5 minutes away”. As if I wasn’t stressed enough about my speeding ticket, my lawyer was now an hour late. I had enough, I called the law firm and spoke to the office manager who informed me that my lawyer was “6 miles away from the court house”.At this point I was demanding some sort of compensation from the office. The manager assured me that if I called the office back after my case was taken care of that I would be “take care of”. I was told I would receive some sort of compensation for the inconvenience. When my lawyer finally arrived she was an hour and thirty minutes late. She did not even apologize for being unbelievably late.
When the lawyer and I departed, I called the law firm and was placed on hold for several minutes. When the administrative assistant returned she stated that I needed to speak to someone else about receiving any sort of compensation. She promised that I would receive a call back before 5 PM that day. I waited 48 hours and still heard nothing. I decided to call the office and it turned out that the person I was waiting to hear from was in the office. At this point I was informed that I would not receive any compensation or refund for my troubles. When I hire a lawyer, I expect punctuality and courtesy. I did not receive either of these from Stabile Law Firm. I deserved half, if not a full refund. The best thing the firm was willing to offer me was the POSSIBILITY of a discount if I referred a friend to their firm. I would NEVER refer ANYONE I care about to this law firm; even if they did have a CHANCE of receiving a discount. This law firm is unprofessional, unreasonable, and far from prompt. If you value your money and your time, do NOT use this firm.
