Kraft Miles, A Law Corporation

I went to Mrs. Miles in hopes of getting my dog back. I had a great meeting initially where she stated she would get my dog, spousal support, lawyer fees split, as well as most of my divorce finished and a DVRO taken care of. Being from the south I trust a handshake and a persons word. I paid Mrs. Miles 4,000 dollars, or all the money I was able to borrow. I told Mrs. Miles that I was glad she would get me lawyer fees split and alimony because otherwise, I would soon be homeless. After about a month and a half, I received another set of bills totaling close to another 5,600 more dollars on top of the 4,000 already paid. Mrs. Miles knows that I make a yearly income before taxes of just about 20,000 dollars so I don't understand how she thought I would pay her back. She told me I could set up a payment plan paying 250 a month for 23 months. She even told me that since I had so much debt that she suggest I file for bankruptcy but that I wouldn't be able to file bankruptcy on her lawyer fees. Needless to say, I was never informed that I had reached my retainer and she continued to bill me well over an amount that I could ever afford. I still don't have my dog, spousal support, lawyer fees split and the work she did on my divorce was so disorganized that I'm going to have to spend more time redoing it then I did helping her set it up in the first place. At this point, I'm unable to hire another lawyer because I gave Mrs. Miles all the money I could get so I will probably never see my dog again which was the only real reason I went to get a lawyer in the first place. Her excuse as to why I was being charged more is that she didn't initially think the case would be this hard to prosecute but the fact is I’m not a lawyer and she shouldn't have told me she could do something that she couldn't. I thought I would be better off getting a lawyer but in the end, I wish that I had gotten more opinions on my case and not trusted Mrs.Miles and the Kraft, Miles, and Miller LLC.

They are a great law office. Marcia and her associates helped me a lot when I was going through my divorce
