LifeStream Services is a nonprofit organization that provides products, services and help to older adults, disabled individuals, families and communities in East Central Indiana. LifeStream offers a variety of products and services to help people with independent living solutions, including meals, transportation, in-home care, housing, caregiver support, guardianship, legal services, respite care and nutrition services. The organization was established in 1975 as an area agency on aging, under the auspices of the Older Americans Act, to provide comprehensive services for the elderly in Blackford, Delaware Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison and Randolph counties in East Central Indiana. Its services were later expanded to include disabled individuals. The revenue for its programs is provided by federal and state sources, primarily with service contracts with the state, and is supplemented by private pay services, tax-deductible donations and bequests. The company is headquartered in Yorktown, Ind., and operates five other offices in the area.
