I have been seeing Paula Parker, DVM for 20 years and 4 dogs. She has ALWAYS provided excellent, caring, and informative information. When whe moved further away from me it is worth the drive as my confidence with a DVM is critical. My only regret is that she may be close to retirement.
Yes, prices have risen and are difficult to accept both for vets and us. We tend to not compare them to the cost of human medicine because so many of us have health insurance. I just prioritize this fact into my budget.

Dr. Parker has been my basset hounds vet for over 13 years. She and her staff are exceptional! They care about the animals in their care and go above and beyond to try and do what is best for them. Dr. Parker takes the time to discuss all of the options available and will seek out alternative options if she needs to. I would never even consider taking my bassets to any other vet! :)

I love Dr. Parker, and have used her for over 20 years. She always explains things thoroughly, in a way you can understand and never rushes. Her staff are the most caring I have run across. She has done wonders for my ancient cat Panda who after some bad kidney problems and being at the brink of death is now frisking around. Her ethics are spot on and she's always up front with the cost of a procedure and alternatives before you make the decision. The kennel care at her clinic is good too. I never worry about my pets when I am on vacation.

I am the veterinarian in question. The review that is posted here is not really an accurate description of what happened or what this customer was told. I am sorry they were unhappy but felt it was best for the animal to pass it on to a specialist to complete the surgery. I did the best I was able under the circumstances and not having a completely successful outcome is not the same thing as being wrong or a "bad" veterinarian.

Dr. Paula Parker shouldn't be in practice after what happened to our dog in her care. Shelley swallowed a baited fish hook so it was an emergency situation & Cherry Creek was the closest hospital. She assured us that she could remove the hook & discouraged us going anywhere else. She waited 4 1/2 hours into a 45-60 minute surgery to even call us. When she did she disclosed to us at that time she was under staffed & had no one to even operate the ultra sound machine so she couldn't remove the hook. She sewed our dog back up whose whole stomach was cut open to just below her chest. She had to be left over night w/out care until 8am the next morning. She charged us $1500 to start & collected $1026 in order to pick her up;she wanted to charge more. We then went to Loomis Basin. Shelley was cut back open & the hook was removed. We spent an addtl $2100. We also believe Dr. Parker is responsible for a soft tissue injury (hip) from having her strapped down on her back for so long. She hasn't returned our calls to date and never even called after surgery to check on our dog. Do yourself and your pet a HUGE favor and DO NOT use Cherry Creek/Dr. Paula Parker.
