Teeth Cleaning
If the disease is caught in the early stages of gingivitis, and no damage has been done, one to two regular cleanings will be recommended. You will also be given instructions on improving your daily oral hygiene habits and having regular dental cleanings.
Fluoride Treatment
The dentist will first examine your mouth to see if there is any swelling or bleeding in the gums. They will then use a rubber-tipped instrument called an explorer to make sure that they can brush all of the surfaces of your teeth. The dentist will then use a scaler to remove any tartar or plaque buildup on the surfaces of your teeth. Next, they’ll use an ultrasonic cleaner to remove bacteria from between the spaces in between your teeth. Then, they’ll polish and floss all of your teeth with fluoride toothpaste before giving you a fluoride treatment. Finally, they’ll check for cavities by examining their teeth.
Dental Sealants
A routine exam is important for maintaining your health and well-being. For example, you might not realize that you have an oral cavity infection until it worsens because you neglected to schedule a dental checkup. Another reason why it's important to visit the oral surgeon is to check for periodontal disease every six months because these diseases can lead to tooth loss. Your oral surgeon will also be able to offer preventive care, like teeth whitening, sealants, and fluoride treatment.
Space Maintainers
Since primary teeth guide the permanent teeth into place, infants with missing primary teeth, or infants who prematurely lose primary teeth, may require a space maintainer, a device used to hold the natural space open. Without a maintainer, the teeth can tilt toward the empty space and cause permanent teeth to come in crooked.

Fillings

Root Canal Treatment

Apicoectomy
An apicoectomy does not require an overnight stay, and full aftercare instructions and pain medications will be provided, as needed. After several days, the dentist will remove the stitches, and the connective tissues will fully heal within several months after the procedure.

Periodontal Surgery
If the pockets do not heal after scaling and root planning, periodontal surgery may be needed to reduce pocket depths, making teeth easier to clean.
Deep Cleaning
If the disease has progressed to more advanced stages, a special periodontal cleaning called scaling and root planning will be recommended. It is usually done one quadrant of the mouth at a time while the area is numb. In this procedure, tartar, plaque, and toxins are removed from above and below the gum line (scaling), and rough spots on root surfaces are made smooth (planing). This procedure helps gum tissue heal and pockets shrink. Medications, special medicated mouth rinses, and an electric toothbrush may be recommended to help control infection and healing.

Maxillofacial Surgery
A study published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery found that the appliance was effective in treating TMJ in 96% of patients. The study also found that the appliance was more effective than braces in treating TMJ.
Tooth Extractions
Tooth extraction: Studies have shown that patients who have experienced a tooth extraction subsequently lose 40-60% of the bone surrounding the extraction site during the following three years. Loss of bone results in what is called a “bone defect”.
Bone Grafting
Bone grafting is a highly successful procedure in most cases. It is also a preferable alternative to having missing teeth, diseased teeth or tooth deformities. Bone grafting can increase the height or width of the jawbone and fill in voids and defects in the bone.

Braces
