Thyroid
The eye changes associated with thyroid disease are referred to as Thyroid Eye Disease (TED). Although TED is seen in all types of thyroid disorders, it is most common in patients that are or were hyperthyroid. It also rarely occurs in those who are hypothyroid and even when there is an absence of thyroid abnormalities in the body.

Our office bills for the surgical services only; the surgery center or hospital, the anesthesia provider, (and possibly the pathology team if needed) will bill separately. Our office can provide billing codes as needed. Any cosmetic fees must be paid in full one week or seven days prior to your surgery date.

Botox
BOTOX® is an FDA-approved treatment for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. BOTOX® can diminish the appearance of these brow lines creating a smoother and more youthful appearance.
Brow Lift
In a conventional forehead lift, the incision is placed along the hairline. A forehead lift can also be performed through several small incisions and an endoscope, oftentimes using small bio-absorbable implants (Endotine Fixation Devices). Additional surgical options to raise the eyebrows include an indirect brow lift (“browpexy”) or direct brow lift. Our MOPSS surgeons can guide you to choose the best option for your goals and anatomy.
Eyelid Surgery
The most common side effect of an eyelid surgery is that a revision may be required. Our surgeons would prefer to be conservative with removing tissue, as it is always easier to adjust if more skin, fat, or a further pinch of the muscle is needed. Approximately 1 in 30 patients will require such a procedure and many revisions can be done under local anesthesia in our office.

Blepharoplasty
It is often said that the eyes are the windows to the soul; a person’s mood or expression is often reflected by the appearance of his or her eyes. If the upper eyelids appear heavy or drooping, it can give the false impression that one is tired, stressed, sad, or even older than one’s age. This is why the blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) and ptosis repair (eyelid muscle tightening) are two of the most common cosmetic procedures performed today.
Cosmetic Surgery
MOPSS is devoted exclusively to oculoplastic and ophthalmic plastic surgery, which refers to reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the areas surrounding the eye and mid-face, including the eyelids, tear ducts (lacrimal) system, orbits, and brow.
Forehead Lift
A forehead lift and brow lift are procedures that correct drooping, sagging brows. When your brow sags, it can create dark, tired eyes and furrows on your forehead that may make you appear angry even when you are not.

Skin Cancer
Another treatment for skin cancer is Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Our surgeons work closely with specially trained dermatologists who remove very thin layers of the remaining tissue that surrounds the lesion. The skin is removed one layer at a time. Each layer is checked under a microscope, and the procedure is repeated until the skin is cancer-free.
Lesions
Not every bump indicates cancer. Many are benign in nature and include cysts, styes, chalazia, hemangiomas, and other lesions. With any growth, however, it is important to have it diagnosed by a physician at its earliest appearance. Below are the most common bumps and lesions that we treat. Treatments vary based on size, location, and appearance so discuss the best option for you with one of MOPSS surgeons.
