General Info

A part of the New Hampshire Department of Safety, New Hampshire Homeland Security and Emergency Management, also known as HSEM is responsible for coordinating the planning and responding to natural and manmade disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, winter storms, nuclear power plant accidents and chemical spills. The agency employs more than 50 employees and houses an emergency operations center. It also provides training programs to prepare for protection against terrorist attacks. The agency offers hazard mitigation and emergency planning services. The New Hampshire Department of Safety works for the protection of the citizens and visitors. The department enforces motor vehicle and highway safety laws and building and equipment regulations.
